Far too many Americans take POTUS Donald Trump and his presidency as a joke, but the man has all the power and authority his office affords him and is very capable of making things happen even if his political opponents don’t give him a second thought.
The most important duty is taking care of the American people — opponents and allies alike — and it’s one POTUS takes seriously, as evidenced by a ‘warning’ of sorts he issued to the thugs of Antifa this week.
In an interview with The Daily Caller, the president warned that an opposition to the Left-wing anarchist group could “mobilize” someday soon which would mean “big trouble” for Antifa.
“They better hope that the opposition to Antifa decides not to mobilize,” POTUS told the news site in an exclusive interview from the Oval Office Wednesday.
“These people, like the Antifa — they better hope that the opposition to Antifa decides not to mobilize. Because if they do, they’re much tougher. Much stronger. Potentially much more violent. And Antifa’s going to be in big trouble. But so far they haven’t done that and that’s a good thing,” he noted further.
The DC asked the president what his thoughts were regarding the wave of Left-wing violence that has swept pockets of the country, beginning with Antifa-inspired riots even in Washington, D.C., on his inauguration in 2017.
In particular, reporters asked POTUS about the recent Left-wing mob that besieged Fox News host Tucker Carlson’s D.C. home, in which some participants beat on his front door so hard it cracked.
“I spoke to Tucker — I think Tucker’s a great guy — and I think it’s terrible. They were actually trying to break down [Tucker’s] door,” the president said.
During the encounter, the mob chanted, “Tucker Carlson, we will fight! We know where you sleep at night!” and, “You are not safe!”
Carlson’s wife was home alone at the time; the couple have four kids but none of them were home during the assault. She responded by calling police and locking herself in the kitchen pantry because initially she believed it was a home invasion. Police are currently investigating the incident as a hate crime, The DC — which was co-founded by Carlson — reported.
This isn’t the first time Antifa thugs have garnered the attention of a presidential administration.
Surprisingly, the Obama administration’s very corrupt, very politicized FBI — along with the Department of Homeland Security — designated Antifa actions as those of domestic terrorists because of all of the violence they caused at Trump campaign events during the spring and summer of 2016. As Politico reported in September 2017, the FBI and Department of Homeland Security designated Antifa anarchists as domestic terrorists more than a year earlier, even as both agencies warned the group will be responsible for more violence in the future (and they were correct).
Politico noted:
Federal authorities have been warning state and local officials since early 2016 that leftist extremists known as “Antifa” had become increasingly confrontational and dangerous, so much so that the Department of Homeland Security formally classified their activities as “domestic terrorist violence,” according to interviews and confidential law enforcement documents obtained by POLITICO.
Since well before the Aug. 12 rally in Charlottesville, Virginia, turned deadly, DHS has been issuing warnings about the growing likelihood of lethal violence between the left-wing anarchists and right-wing white supremacist and nationalist groups.
According to documents dating to the spring of 2016, the FBI and DHS believed that “anarchist extremists” had become the primary instigators of violence at political rallies and events (Trump’s mostly).
“It was in that period [as the Trump campaign emerged] that we really became aware of them,” said one senior law enforcement official.
